Kanyakumari Beach
Kanyakumari Beach:
Kanyakumari is located near the southernmost tip of the Indian Peninsula and was once known as Cape Comorin. Kanyakumari beach is a stunning sight, with multi-colored sand. The beach here does not provide many opportunities to relax on smooth golden sands or romp in the surf. The seashore is rocky and treacherous, with a constructed wall running across it. People are told to stay off the rocks, and anyone who goes out of bounds is swiftly and brutally scolded by a watching police officer. A lighthouse offers a panoramic view.
The sea is turbulent, so it's exciting to watch it beat itself against the rocks and then calm down before regrouping for another attack. The beach provides a nice change with its extensive stretches of sand in a variety of colors. The area is also known for its strikingly gorgeous (reddish) sunrises and sunsets. The convergence of three ocean bodies—the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean, and the Arabian Sea—makes the dawn and sunset even more spectacular. On balmy, full-moon evenings, one can witness the moon rise and sunset on opposite sides of the horizon, simultaneously. On the Kanyakumari beach, there are a variety of shells for sale.
